The skiing in Murren is divided into three distinct areas, the most famous is the Schiltorn which is located at the top of the mountain and is suitable for experts from the top and ideal for intermediates if you get of the cable car at the mid-station in Birg. The second area of Schiltgrat is ideal for all ability levels from first timers to seasoned skiers. Some of the best skiing to be found in Murren is from the revolving restaurant on Schilthorn back down to Murren.

The final area of Allmendbuhel is perfect for beginners with easy runs and dedicated beginner lifts, this area can be accessed by funicular from the resort. You can venture on from Allmendbuhel to Winteregg by chairlift and explore some of the exciting runs that cut down through the pinewoods of the area.

Cheap Ski Holidays In Murren - Relaxed Apres Ski

The annual 'Inferno race' takes place every January and has been going for nearly 70 years now. It involves a 12 km descent down a 2,842 metre vertical through some very tricky black sections. The race times range from about 15 minutes to an hour if you are taking it at a more leisurely pace. There are also some other tough runs around the area and heli-skiing is popular in this resort.
