The skiing in the quaint ski holiday resort of Kandersteg is divided into two ski areas, located at Oeschinen and Sunnbüel. The areas are connected by a free ski bus that runs regularly throughout the day. When you purchase your ski pass for the Kandersteg area you also are entitled to ski at Launerchalp further down the valley.

The skiing is generally on wide, smooth, open pistes with stunning views and vistas at all angles. Oeschin is the home of the intermediate skiing with runs graded red and blue for intermediates. With 9 km of runs and great snowmaking facilities you are guaranteed brilliant skiing even late into the season.

Some great intermediate and beginner skiing can be found in Sunnbüel. The area is at an altitude of 2,000 metres and is accessed by a great cablecar ride with stunning views of the valley. As well as the skiing here it is also the departure point for lots of ski tours and there is a highly regarded mountain restaurant to eat in.

There is a third option for skiers in this area with some excellent skiing found in Lauchernalp which is situated a little further down the Lötschen valley. There are runs here suitable for all abilities and a great infrastructure system to ensure that you can get to all the skiing you wish.

Cheap Ski Holidays In Kandersteg - Great Cross Country Tracks

There are 55 km of well maintained cross-country tracks in the area surrounding Kanderstag. There are high altitude areas (2,000 metres) with great trails in Oeschinen and Sunnbelüel. There is also a night trail in Kanderstag which is illuminated for long periods into the evening. Although there is no requirement for a ski pass to ski in these areas, people should purchase a trail pass to help with maintenance and up-keep of the pristine runs.
