The alternatives to downhill sliding in St Moritz are unrivalled, covering the normal options to a higher standard than elsewhere and then offering some unusual choices that other don't. In this latter category you might consider a game of golf, or even cricket on the frozen lake, where horse riding, ski jöring (being towed behind a horse on your skis), show jumping and polo are also enjoyed to competition standard. The Olympia bobsleigh run is open to all with a package including a run, a photo, a drink and a certificate whilst the world famous Cresta run is of course still going strong, a very British affair (although Swiss francs are now accepted for payment and, possibly as a last bastion of colonial style chauvinism, only men are allowed to partake, officially due to a medical decision in 1932 that women might damage their breasts). Off the slopes there's a spa, cinema, museums, horse drawn sleigh rides, indoor tennis, squash and many more leisure opportunities. A new casino complex is nearing completion and in the meantime there is a casino next to the Kempinski Grand Hotel.
