There's plenty to do besides skiing and boarding in the Rauris Valley.
The sledding run is open every day for use during the regular operating hours of the Kreuzboden Lift - use your regular ski pass to ride the lift.
Snowshoeing allows you to immerse yourself in the slow-paced, yet invigoratingly beautiful countryside of Rauris in winter. You also have an opportunity to head out once a week to the Märchenkarhütte accompanied by an expert guide.
The glorious snow-covered winter landscapes of the Seidlwinkltal invite you to head out on a broad range of winter hikes along 35km of well maintained winter trails. Be sure to stop in at one of the inns and cafes along the trail's edge and indulge yourself in a glass of invigorating "Hunt Tea".
Air Taxi Rauris offer paragliding and ice climbing, if you are feeling adventurous, is offered by local expert Wolfgang Rohrmoser. The beautiful valley head of Kolm Saigurn is blessed with some spectacular waterfalls. In climbing jargon, the valley head is referred to as the "Kolm Saigurn Ice Arena".
Horseback riding is also an option. Nigglgut Riding Stables offers lessons, pony rides, treks and adventure programs. At the Hotel Alpina there's an Icelandic Stud Farm, dressage enclosure, oval, lunge circle.
Alpine Wellness in Rauris offered in numerous wellness amenities which are open to the general public, including several public saunas, tanning studios and a public indoor pool.
The Museum of Rauris is based in the old courthouse building (established in 1562).
It offers information about the Rauris valley, the gold mining, tradition and manual skills, minerals, animals as well as a detailed exhibition of the national park. The Sonnblick weather forecast has a separate place in the museum.
Local sights include The Church of Rauris (Pinzgauer cathedral) is built in the gothic style and was completed in the 15th century. Worth seeing is the late gothic choir, the roof paintings, the baroque altar as well as the octagonal baptismal front from the year 1497. St Michaels-Chapel is the oldest memorial in Rauris. It was first mentioned in the year 1203.
Excursions are possible to Salzburg City (50 mins.), the "Spa Town of the Alps", Bad Gastein (40 mins.), the famous towns of Bischofshofen (40 mins.), St. Johann (35 mins.) or Zell-am-See and Kaprun (30 mins.)
