Eating out in Livigno

With more than sixty restaurants to choose from you'll be spoilt for choice in Livigno. For specialities of the local Valtellina Region in an 'old-world' atmosphere try the Ristorantes La Rusticana, Mario's, Stalet, Camana Veglia or La Piöda. What you won't find are many specialist restaurtants offering dishes beyond Italian - in common with most other resorts in Italy the inhabitants of Livigno see no need to waste time with other national cuisines when Italian is so good! In addition to local food specialities the Valtellina area produces some excellent wines, including the 'almondy' red, Grumello Doc, best with cheese or red meat and the less full bodied Valtellina Doc, suited to first courses, white meat and soft cheese.
