Of the 40plus bars and restaurants around Winter Park, the majority are concentrated along the high street through the centre of the town. However the dramatically remodelled Derailer Bar, located at Winter Park base, is a popular first stop for the crowds coming off the slopes to exchange tales of the day's excitement, it has been completely overhauled recently.
Away from the slopes, Winston's bar in the Vintage Hotel contains a spectacular nineteenth century bar that reputedly originated in a favourite London pub of Winston Churchill. Another popular spot is the Rails Lounge in Iron Horse Resort, also the location for Wednesday night performances on the Comedy Train. For dancing, You also have the chance to immerse yourself in Country and Western culture at Rome on The Range, while The Drunken Frenchman offers a variety of live music.
Moonlight snowmobile tours are another popular option. The Winter Park Pub has 15 beers on tap, serves $1 beers every night of the week and has disco nights, mystery beer nights and other off-beat events. The Crooked Creek Saloon is the place for a taste of the Old West (there's a pool tournament every Monday) and Deno's Mountain Bistro has eight TVs tuned in to top sporting events every evening. Après Ski connoiseurs will want to obtain a copy of the Black Diamond Nightlife Tour which is a brochure/map detailing all top establishments. Presenting it at each will earn the bearer the establishment's special drink. The Tour Guide also contains details of 'the Lift' - Fraser Valley's free shuttle system.
